What does the day look like?

Rhythm of the Day

While no two days at Flora & Fauna look exactly alike, each day follows a familiar rhythm.

  • Arrival

Students arrive, settle into the day, and prepare for learning.

  • Morning Connections

Morning gatherings help build community, establish the rhythm of the day, and create opportunities for connection.

  • Morning Academic Block

Students engage in academic studies within their cohorts through direct instruction, discussion, independent work, and hands-on learning experiences.

  • Lunch & Recess

Students share a meal together and enjoy time outdoors. Unstructured play provides opportunities for movement, creativity, problem-solving, and social growth.

  • Afternoon Block

Afternoons may include nature study, projects, creative work, outdoor learning, field experiences, and other community activities.

  • Afternoon Connections & Recess

Students continue to build relationships through shared experiences, outdoor play, collaborative projects, and informal conversations.

  • Dismissal

Students gather belongings, reflect on the day, and prepare to head home.
